Rift is for building communities where people feel welcome. These guidelines apply everywhere on Rift - in servers, DMs, calls, profiles, and usernames. Breaking them can get content removed, your account limited, or you permanently banned.
Disagreement is fine; cruelty is not. Don't harass, bully, threaten, stalk, or pile onto anyone. Don't start or join targeted campaigns against a person or group.
Content that attacks or dehumanizes people based on race, ethnicity, national origin, religion, sex, gender identity, sexual orientation, disability, or any protected characteristic is not allowed. Our filters catch slurs even when disguised with symbols or spacing.
You must be 14 or older to use Rift. We have zero tolerance for any content that sexualizes minors. Child sexual abuse material (CSAM) is reported to the authorities and results in an immediate, permanent ban. Do not sexualize, groom, or endanger anyone under 18.
Don't post pornographic or graphically violent content in public servers, public profiles, usernames, or anywhere it can reach people who didn't choose to see it. Public servers are human reviewed and held to this standard.
Don't flood channels, run mass-DM spam, operate scams or phishing, or share malware and malicious links. Don't sell or trade access to accounts.
Don't use Rift to plan, promote, or carry out anything illegal - including the sale of regulated goods, fraud, or coordinating real-world harm.
Don't share other people's private information without consent (doxxing), and don't post intimate images of anyone without their permission. Don't record or screenshot private conversations to harass someone. Bots that collect and store messages for third-party apps are not allowed.
Don't impersonate other people, organizations, or Rift staff. Use a username and profile that don't deceive others about who you are. Ban evasion - making new accounts to get around a ban - is itself a violation.
Don't attempt to break, overload, or gain unauthorized access to Rift's systems or other users' accounts. Don't abuse bugs; report them to us instead at Gav2011@modeminc.com.
Depending on severity and history, we may remove content, issue a warning, time out or limit an account, remove a server from the public directory, or permanently ban an account. Serious violations - especially those involving minors or credible threats - skip straight to a ban.
